Trump spends 118million and 227 days on golfing

President Donald Trump has pushed his taxpayer-funded golf tab past $118 million on his 26th visit to Mar-a-Lago, his for-profit resort in Palm Beach, Florida, with a Saturday visit to his course in neighboring West Palm Beach.

At this exact point in former President Barack Obama’s first term, he had spent 88 days on a golf course. Saturday was Trump’s 227th day as president on a course that he owns. If Trump continues golfing at the pace he has set in his first three years, he will surpass in just one term the total number of days Obama spent golfing over two full terms — despite having repeatedly criticized Obama for playing too much golf and having promised, as a candidate, that he would be too busy to play any golf at all.

From Italy I remember when he said that! I kept thinking why is he bringing up golf? So I looked up how much golf Obama played and while I did think it was a bit much I also thought “well he must really like it, and even a president needs a break and to relax”…But 227? Are you sure that’s right? 227 is 75 days per year, that’s way more vacation time than any person gets per year on a job. Most get 75 days in 3 years…
Are you sure it’s 227?

I don’t mind it at all, deals get made. Golfing or not Potus is and does get things done. That’s my view on it.

I often hear people say that Trump is working for nothing and I just have to scratch my head… In addition to the outlandish golf expense for secret service and other fees… People are staying at his hotels and he’s spreading his influence and making deals…

All presidents do it. It’s part of the job. Worry about things that matter.

“Presidents other than Trump incurred similar questions about travel costs. Much of what is known about Obama’s travel costs was obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, which aggressively sought receipts through Freedom of Information Act requests. In October 2016, the GAO issued its own report breaking out the costs of one specific trip taken by Obama, finding that a trip to Chicago and Florida cost $3.6 million.”

Like I tell the pundits here, vote someone else in if you think $118 million is too much. The Impeachment was a cheap shot that I knew would fail. Politico reported the day POTUS Trump was sworn in the conspiracy to boot him out began. Have tactical patience and good luck!!

“vote someone else in if you think $118 million is too much.” Considering He told everyone very proudly that he wouldn’t have time for golfing and kept referencing Obama’s golfing trips, I think it’s warranted to scrutinize his spending.

As already said deals are made in the golf course and he’s getting things done in spite of the distractions and noise. I marvel at his energy Level and I understand he only sleeps like 4 hours a night.

So the man that “wrote” the “art of the deal” didn’t know that deals were made on the golf course when Obama was golfing? it’s a recent discovery for him?

I’m not entirely convinced Trump is spending all of his time playing golf when he goes to these clubs. Regardless, I care about results. If Trump is able to play that much golf and still outperform his predecessor, good for him.

I think politicians care more about optics than executives in the private sector. Competence means success in the private sector… Popularity means success in politics. Ironically, Trump has more experience in an executive position than any other president in history. It’s not really surprising that he makes other politicians seem like feckless tools.
